Press Release:

The Business Design Centre hosted the fourth annual show, which was presented by Make-up Artist Magazine. Makeup professionals offered education and demonstrations to thousands of visitors from around the world. New products were introduced, make-up secrets were revealed and ideas were exchanged. In addition, attendees had the opportunity to experiment with products and pursue their own interests with those in the know. This year, classroom space was provided to exhibitors to allow for more in-depth demonstrations and practice.

Known simply as "The Show" to the make-up world, the International Make-Up Artist Trade Show is the only show of its kind. Attendees convene for the make-up world's finest gathering to discuss, display, discover and collect the best the industry has to offer.

Every year, the Trade Show continues to further the vision to educate and reach make-up artists around the world.

History

Until 1997, there were no trade shows specifically for make-up artists. Cosmetic companies expressed a desire for such an event, and so Make-Up Artist magazine publisher Michael Key held the First Annual International Make-Up Artist Trade Show in August of 1997. The Show offered a diverse mix of presentations, products, demonstrations, and education by some of the biggest names in the business.

Education

With more education class time than ever, the 2006 Show was a fabulous opportunity for learning make-up techniques. This year's show included more educators, presenting more than a dozen classes over two days.
Leading professionals and award-winning make-up artists held seminars covering topics such as airbrushing, period hairstyling, character aging, bald cap application, and print and fashion make-up.
