A full recharge takes about 4 hours and costs about five cents creating the Joust unit’s per mile operating cost of about three tenths of cent per mile. That’s about one fortieth the fuel cost of a typical minivan. With speed controls, silent operation, and braking systems they are able to be sidewalk operated in most areas. Operating a Joust unit is much easier and less strenuous than bicycling, and it does not require special licensing.
