Impact Systems Inc.announces Laura J. Sherman, formerly Associate Director of Pfizer’s Regulatory Operations, is appointed Vice President, Submission and Validation Practice. Ms. Sherman will be responsible for the creation of a strategic business center focused on electronic regulatory publishing opportunities, extending beyond the life sciences industry, including the U.S. Government. To quantify the growth in this area, the FDA received around 6000 electronic submissions in 2005; by 2008 the number will probably exceed 100,000.

Ms. Sherman will be responsible for the creation of a strategic business center focused on electronic regulatory publishing opportunities, extending beyond the life sciences industry, including the U.S. Government. In a statement to the employees of Impact Systems, Mr. John Nidelcheff, President, said, “ The creation of a Submission and Validation Practice positions Impact Systems as a serious player in the exploding market for electronic publishing driven by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. Laura Sherman brings a wealth of experience and managerial competence to head up this business. She has ten years of extensive experience in regulatory document management, submission publishing and validation with Pfizer. She was the recipient of Pfizer’s most prestigious Achievement Award in 2002. In recent years, Ms. Sherman has been an active core team member of the Drug Information Association’s various Special Interest Activities (SAICs) involving electronic regulatory submissions, and has served as Co-Chair of the Annual DIA Electronic Document Management Conference.”

Ms. Sherman has a BA from Assumption College in Foreign Affairs with Minors in Economics and French, and has an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She resides in Westerly, RI.
