The Language Access Network, Inc. (T-LAN), a pioneer in video language interpretation services, announced today it has appointed two new members to its corporate Board of Directors: James Schilling of Portland, OR and Laurence E. Sturtz. of Columbus, Ohio.

James Schilling is Vice President of Crowne Gold Inc. an industry leader offering high-tech transaction processing utilizing gold and silver. He has over 20 years of investment experience in the securities business as a registered representative. Prior to his position with Crowne Gold, Schilling founded West Coast Consulting in 1990, and has assisted companies in all stages of growth from concept, seed financing, management formation and execution of a business plan. He has previously served on the board of directors of two publicly-traded companies.
Laurence Sturtz was a prominent trial lawyer with the firm of Carlile, Patchen & Murphy in Columbus, Ohio until his retirement in 2002. He was senior litigator for the firm which has served Ohio businesses and the people who own and operate them since 1967. He received his B.A. degree in Economics and his J. D. degree from Ohio State University, graduating in 1964 and 1967. He was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court and had five cases before that body over the years.
Sturtz had left the practice of law for six years (1982-1988) and entered the corporate world becoming Vice President and General Counsel, and then President and Chief Executive Officer of Strata Corporation, a public company where he helped negotiate five acquisitions and mergers.
Sturtz is also a Board Member for AdCare Health Systems, an owner and manager of nursing homes, assisted living, sub-acute units and retirement communities, and for Advanced Biological Marketing, a Van Wert, Ohio company that identifies, develops, and markets specialty biological products for agricultural related industries.
