Press Release:

A few years ago, Bay Area music producer and musician Tom Corwin’s beloved golden retriever, Bob, passed away. You probably know someone like Tom – he’s the kind of guy who brings his dog with him wherever he goes – to get coffee, to the grocery store, to parties and of course, on tour. Through his travels, Bob made his own friends and was loved by all. So when he died suddenly, Tom wrote a letter to his friends and family as a tribute to his life – to let them know not just that Bob had passed – but how he lived, and how through sheer determination, he changed his own life.

To Tom’s surprise, the letter was passed on and on, made its way around the web and took on a life of its own. Tom then came to realize that the story of Bob’s life was really a universal tale about the possibility of change and the power of unconditional love.

This letter evolved into Mostly Bob, a spare and artful book, beautifully hand-designed by the author, with one sentence per page and flipbook illustrations of Bob.

Bob was originally Tom’s neighbor’s dog — a ferocious, untrusting and unapproachable dog, named Red. Red’s life was spent tied up in his yard, getting attention only when his owner yelled at him or brought him his daily bowl of food. But one day, he noticed something. His neighbor next door, Tom, had lost his own beloved dog Bubba and sorrow surrounded the house. So for the next year, Red put his mind to becoming Tom’s dog. He set up camp at Tom’s house and very slowly softened, opening his heart to someone whose love for animals was unconditional. Eventually, Red became Bob, an entirely different spirit, one whose life was filled with love and tenderness.

More praise for Mostly Bob:
