Health of America Insurance Agency, a Minnesota health insurance agency, has announced rate reductions on new "One Deductible" individual health insurance applications with an effective date of June 1, 2006. This Minnesota health insurance agency, providing Assurant Health products, will also be offering additional rate competitiveness in the 40-59 age range and on health savings accounts (HSAs) on new applications effective June 1, 2006.
Assurant Health, a leading provider of individual health insurance in Minnesota, has announced a rate reduction on their "One Deductible" individual health insurance plan. This rate reduction applies to new applicants on a new "One Deductible" plan with an effective date of June 1, 2006, with or without a health savings account (HSA).
"Assurant Health is built on the cornerstone of consumer choice, providing ongoing flexibility and choices in health insurance plans and providers. Reducing rates for new customers is a choice they have made to help ease the burden of individual health insurance costs", said Rick Roach, President of Health of America Insurance Agency.
In addition to reduced rates on their individual health insurance plan, Assurant Health is also offering the "RightStart HSA", an HSA-qualified major medical plan at 15% to 49% lower premiums than their "One Deductible" plan.
"The Health Savings Account plan consists of a federally-qualified high deductible family or individual health insurance plan and a tax-sheltered HSA," said Roach. "The high deductible plan costs considerably less in premium compared to a conventional plan and covers bills that exceed the deductible. The insured may use HSA contributions to pay smaller bills and some other expenses not typically covered by their individual health insurance plan such as dental and vision care with pre-tax HSA dollars and since the unused funds roll over tax-free from year to year, HSAs can also provide you savings for your retirement needs."
