Lloyd Maunder announced last month it was closing its lamb operations at Willand in Devon after losing an important supermarket account.

The 135 staff to be made redundant will finish work at the plant on Friday. Pro Auction Limited have been appointed to sell the assets at the factory by public auction on the 28th June 2006.

The entire assets for meat processing will go under the hammer by the specialist food sector auctioneer Pro Auction, who are expecting a good level of interest in the sale.

The auctioneers are anticipating strong prices for the equipment, most of which was recently installed.
