FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEPacific Microinstruments Releases Palm(TM) OS Application Programmer Interface for the Extra*Digit(TM) MNP-12 Measurement Node.Sierra Madre, CA (2/15/2001) - Pacific Microinstruments, Inc. announced the immediate release of the Extra*Digit Application Programmer Interface, version 1.0 (API1.0) for the Extra*Digit MNP-12 Springboard(TM) module. The API allows end-users, companies, and research institutions to develop proprietary code for handheld instruments on the Palm Operating Systems and Handspring(TM) Visor(TM) handheld computer. Pacific Microinstruments also announced the immediate availability of the Extra*Digit Instrument Developer Kit, version 1.0 (IDK1.0) that includes an Extra*Digit MNP-12, a Longboard(TM) Flash-EXB-1 extender module, the API1.0, and sample code."The Extra*Digit API1.0 is a shared library providing a public application programmer interface for data acquisition and handheld instrument applications based on the MNP-12 Springboard module," said Michael Klinglesmith, CTO, Pacific Microinstruments. "The Extra*Digit API has been under Beta development for many months, and extensive code has already been written on the pre-release API. This guarantees the integrity, stability, and longevity of our Palm instrument development environment."The Extra*Digit API1.0 is targeted at MNP-12 users who want to create proprietary code for Palm OS measurement systems based on the Handspring Visor. The API1.0 is designed for use with Code Warrior(TM) R6 or higher and the Palm OS 3.5SDK.
