Global pump manufacturer selects iScala products to improve customer services with real-time connections and automated order processesLondon, 16 August 2001: Global industrial manufacturer ITT Flygt has selected the iScala Global Commerce Server and the Data Exchange Server to integrate their bespoke quotation system with online activities and backoffice processes, to synchronise their part- and product- databases worldwide and to integrate their business processes. The contract with Scala will help ITT Flygt centralise distribution centres to supply Europe and other parts of the world with products, saving a massive amount of manual processing through transaction automation.E-business automation and integration have been key drivers in the development of the iScala product range. ITT Flygt chose the Global Commerce Server and the Data Exchange Server as they work with Scala 5.1 backoffice to give real-time integration between web transactions and the backoffice, using the iScala Managers to provide the logic for automation. The quality of communication links today means we can get the real-time access we need to trade effectively online, while Scala`s technology allows us to exploit true real-time access by giving us the business processes we want for trading, said Kenneth Arnesson, ERP Systems Manager for ITT Flygt. Scala`s system automates our transactions so effectively that there is no need for staff to get involved in mundane manual processes, such as raising purchase orders, so our offices around the world can concentrate on sales and marketing. The salesmen can provide the customers with an immediate quote and, once the price is accepted, the quote is sent to Scala where it automatically becomes an order. With real-time data synchronisation and EDI links in place the company achieves automated business process workflow, from order, to delivery, to payment, without human intervention. Additionally, parameters may be set by ITT Flygt so that should any discrepancies arise the Scala system will flag it up for staff to verify.
