Kenny Chesney Donation Helps Support Disabled Children
Country Western singer Kenny Chesney has donated an autographed guitar to be auctioned on eBay to generate funds for Personal Ponies Ltd., an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing UK Shetland ponies as companions for children with disabilities.
Personal Ponies, Ltd., is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1986 to promote the idea that children with disabilities will be immeasurably enriched by having a small pony to care for and enjoy. Children with disabilities across the United States have benefited from the program. Personal Ponies, Ltd., is unique in that it has no paid members. In fact, aside from occasional donations, members shoulder the cost of raising and maintaining the ponies. "It is exciting for us that Mr. Chesney has donated this autographed guitar for us to generate funds for PPL" stated Annie Norvelle, National Media Director for the program. She adds "We hope that due to Mr. Chesneys popularity we will be able to have a very successful auction."
In order to validate the authenticity of the autographed guitar, Mr. Ezra Shashoua, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary and Executive Vice President of Cruzan Intl., Inc., sponsor of Kenny Chesneys concert tours, has provided a letter stating the autograph is genuine. A picture of this letter will be visible on the auction site. According to Mr. Shashoua, "...Kenny personally autographed a Washburn Guitar (Model "D9C" and serial number FC03101603) at my request. It was my understanding that the Washburn Guitar autographed by Kenny would be placed in an auction and the proceeds utilized by the charity to continue to provide its remarkable services to these very special children."
The eBay auction commenced June 1, and is eBay Item Number 4247815020. The auction will run for seven calendar days. Personal Ponies extends a heartfelt thanks to Mr. Chesney for this support.
