Customers requested more color choices for mailing photos during holidays and creating fun, attention-grabbing invitations. “Customers kept asking if the 4x6 came in colors, so it made sense. The hardest part was choosing the colors,” said president Bill Raspe. The striking blue, red and yellow shades selected are bright, saturated colors. Loyalty to the white 4x6 envelope has run high due to the convenience of the size and the lack of availability from other vendors in the market.
Although digital photography has made electronic sharing of photos more popular, customers told Raspe, “Nothing beats holding a real photo in your hand.” The size is perfect for mailing up to eight photos to friends and relatives, as well as storing pictures and scrapbooking.
Contributing to the demand for the 4x6 envelope is the recent phenomenon of homemade cards and invitations. Crafty customers who make their own cards are often left with the almost impossible task of finding an envelope to hold their creation. “Always order the envelope first,” advises Raspe, “then make the card or invitation fit the envelope.” Good advice from a man who sheepishly admits that he now knows more about envelopes than he ever thought anyone could. These three fresh color options give creative customers new ways to express themselves.
