Online "Social Networking" website MyDaze.com features provide privacy, security, and parental participation to help children experience positive online journaling without fear of strangers.
Bates Strategy Group, Inc. (BSG) today announced the release of its MyDaze.com Parental Choices program for safe personal journaling and information sharing. MyDaze.com delivers a "Social Networking" service that enables an individual to create a private, personalized Neighborhood on the internet. The Parental Choice program offers differing levels of participation to the parent, running a spectrum from minimal awareness and approval to complete hands-on involvement as the Circle site manager.
All information that is maintained in a Circle is secure and can only be accessed by Circle members. Each Circle is only accessible by those invited by the Circle manager. The child is not exposed to strangers, nor is site information viewable by anyone but Circle members.
As information is entered, it becomes part of a permanent log that is time and date stamped, and is not able to be edited. Parents can review all communications and posting activity at any time, including all historical data, images, and files.
"The internet can be a positive environment for children to learn and develop social skills. However, parents need to be engaged in the process." Explains Tim Bates, principal of Bates Strategy Group. "Children want to share their lives and experiences with others, but want to select who they open up to, which is not necessarily everyone on the Internet. Open and honest sharing within proper boundaries is a healthy social skill to learn and requires respect, privacy, and norms. This is the basis of any Circle of Friends and the foundation of our LifeCircles.com products."
