C28 was founded by Aurelio F. Barreto III after he sold Dogloo, Inc., a company he co-founded and was the CEO of for 10 years.
"After 10 years and the sale of Dogloo Inc., I found myself with all the material things of this world, but felt without much purpose in life," Barreto said. "I was a responsible man, a moral man, I loved my family and prayed every night, but I had never heard the gospel nor did I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ."
After Barreto accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior he felt led to open a Christian clothing store that would be a ministry as well as a retail store.
At C28, the Christian shirts, music, jewelry and accessories reflect a clean and positive Christian lifestyle. C28 stands for Colossians 2:8, Not Of This World (NOTW), and all about Jesus! The mission at C28 is to share the life changing gospel message of grace, truth and love of Jesus. So far 5,400 people have prayed to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior since opening their first store 5 years ago.
C28 opened its first store in April of 2001 in the Galleria at Tyler in Riverside, CA. C28 now has six thriving company owned stores throughout Southern California.
With the recent availability of franchise stores, Barreto prays that C28 stores will be found across the Unites States and that the message of Christ will reach the ends of the earth through the merchandise sold.
