Eric Brown, the owner of Brown Horizons which is a computer consulting company and the founder of the “African American Circle Of Friends” which is an organization that provides job search help, small business help, self help information and other services - to the African American community on a local, regional and national level, recently participated in a Back To School Bash for school age children at May Park in Augusta Georgia on Augusta 5th, 2006.
During this event Eric Brown gave school supplies, which he purchased himself, to every child that participated in the Back To School Bash at May Park in Augusta Georgia. Mr. Brown personally spoke to and handed a school supply packet to every child that wanted and/or needed school supplies. The total number of school supply packets that Mr. Brown gave out during the Back To School Bash was 400.
Mr. Brown recently provided these comments regarding his reasons for giving the school supplies to children at May Park in Augusta Georgia during the Back To School Bash.
“Many of the children that I saw during the Back To School Bash at May Park in Augusta Georgia needed school supplies for the upcoming school year. However, their parents and/or guardians are not currently in a financial position to buy the school supplies for the children.
I feel that it is only right, if possible, to provide assistance to people when they are in need especially children and the elderly.
I know first hand how it feels to be a young child and not have the things, such as school supplies, that other kids have when school starts each year. It is not a good feeling. I wanted to spare, at least on this occasion, that feeling for every child I saw today at the Back To School Bash.
Every child that wanted and/or needed school supplies, I was able to personally give school supplies. I thank the Lord for giving me the opportunity to give the school supplies to the children at the Back To School Bash at May Park in Augusta Georgia on August 5th.
This is not a one-time event for myself and/or my organization the “African American Circle of Friends”. Personally and through the African American Circle Of Friends, I will continue to try to make a difference in the African American community on a local, regional and national level.”
