The 3rd Annual "National Feral Cat Summit" is scheduled to take place in San Francisco on Sat. Sept. 9th, 2006. The 3rd annual National Feral Cat Summit is scheduled to take place on Sat. Sept. 9th at the South San Francisco Conference Center. Michael Mountain, President of Best Friends Animal Society will present the Keynote Address.
The event is a gathering of the top Feral Cat Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) experts from around the country who will present training workshops to animal shelter and animal care and control staff and volunteers. TNR is a non-lethal method of controlling feral cat populations, so that kittens are not born on the street and brought into already over-crowded shelters.
"Attendees have registered from 25 states and 3 different countries," said event producer Valerie Sicignano. "We are proud to hold the summit in San Francisco, one of the country's most humane communities."
