WageWatch, Inc., (http://www.WageWatch.com ) the leading online compensation and benefits survey company, announced today that its second annual national Senior Living Compensation Survey of Continuing Care Centers, Assisted Living Facilities, Nursing Homes, Hospice, and Home Care, indicates that wages for 54 key jobs increased nationwide by an average of 3.8% over 2005. More than 1900 facilities participated in the survey.
WageWatch analyzed year-to-year average wages for 28 clerical and support jobs, 12 professional jobs, and 14 key management jobs, and found significant wage growth among the three groups.
“Overall, the clerical and support job group lagged in wage growth compared to the other two, with an average increase of approximately 1.5%”, said Margaret Dyekman, President and COO of WageWatch.
Clerical and support jobs include Food Service Worker, Housekeeper, Unit Clerk, Activity Assistant and Van/Bus Driver.
“The average wage increase for the other two groups is over 6%”, said Dyekman. Jobs in these categories include major department heads such as those over Nursing, Dietary Services, and Social Services, and jobs such as Charge Nurse, Physical Therapist, and Dietician.
“National averages are a great starting point to see trends in the industry,” Dyekman continued, “but our survey subscribers are also able to perform their own analyses by metro area or region. These online custom reports are even more meaningful to them because they can see what is going on specifically with their competitor group by individual job.”
