Press Release:

Airport Parking and Hotels (APH) is expecting a record number of parking and hotel bookings this ski season. For many years, skiers and snowboarders have been an important market for APH at its three airport car parks at Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester. This year the signs are that bookings for the season are earlier and higher than ever.

APH has geared up for the onslaught of the ski market by launching a series of new initiatives specifically targeting the winter sports enthusiast. The company has tied up with Ultimate-Ski.com, the ultimate online guide to ski resorts across Europe and North America as well as launching a fortnightly newsletter for skiers, snowboarders and dedicated après-skiers. Following on the success of last year - pre-bookable ski extras have also been expanded on the website.

All initiatives are part of APH’s continued commitment to ensuring today’s independent travellers have the information needed to plan, pre-book and save to ensure their holiday gets off to a flying start.

More than 100,000 skiers and snowboarders pass through APH’s car parks each season and this number is expected to grow as reports of a bumper ski season during 2006/7, so this extra information could not have come at a better time for travellers.

Ski information on the site includes:

Ultimate-Ski - APH has partnered up with ski and snowboard site, www.ultimate-ski.com to offer visitors to www.aph.com the answers to all their winter sports questions. Ultimate-Ski, which was launched this season and provides more detailed ski resort information than previously available online or in print, offers up to the minute news, reports and maps on ski resorts and ski areas in Europe and North America, new lift openings, off-piste coverage, snow and weather reports, where to eat on and off the mountain and information on avalanches and staying safe on the slopes. The site will link to www.aph.com through APH’s summary resort guides which launch soon, designed to whet skier’s and snowboarder’s appetites.

Ski Extras – Following on the success of last year APH will be offering a selection of ski equipment and lift passes which can be booked in advance through www.aph.com, saving time in resort by skipping the queues and saving money (up to 25%). Lift passes can be booked in 50 resorts and ski equipment can be booked in over 125 resorts.

Skiers can order online and collect the gear once in resort ensuring extra time on the slopes and no queuing on day one. Ski equipment is available for all levels from beginners to advanced. Equipment hire is available across Europe, USA and Canada. Prices start at just £39 for six days ski equipment hire in France.

Lift passes can also be booked online saving skiers up to 30% on "on the day" prices. Passes are available for all the major resorts in Europe, US and Canada. By booking in advance holiday makers can avoid the queues and hit the slopes. Lift passes start at £76 for six days in France.

Newsletter
Airport Parking and Hotels is launching a fortnightly newsletter to kick off the ski season. The newsletter is aimed at skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities and will be written from both an enthusiast’s and less avid winter sports perspective. The newsletter will include ski and snowboard news, fashion on the slopes, where’s hot and where’s not as well as detailed resort information. In addition the newsletter will contain competitions, special offers and discounts. Everyone signing up to the newsletter will be entered into a draw to be in with the chance of winning one week’s five star ski holiday to Whistler including flights, accommodation, lift pass, airport parking and lounge passes. Skiers can sign up to receive the newsletter at www.aph.com.
