Vijay Eswaran, QI Group Managing Director and QuestNet founder, has been conferred with the honorary Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) - which carries the title Dato' - at an investiture ceremony in Pahang, Malaysia.
The honour was conferred at a lavish ceremony held in conjunction with the 76th birthday of His Royal Highness Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang, who presented the esteemed award to QuestNet's visionary leader in recognition of his continuing contribution to economic growth in the region.
Dato' Vijay, as he will now be known, recently commissioned an investment of US$ 28.1 million through the company in a resort development project in Kuala Rompin in the State of Pahang. The 167.7 acre resort development is expected to provide a major boost to eco-tourism in Pahang, Malaysia and vacations at the resort will be marketed by QuestNet (www.quest.net), the QI Group's fast-growing e-commerce and distribution business.
Speaking about the award and about his plans for future developments in Malaysia, Dato' Eswaran said: "This award is truly a great honour for me - I was born and brought up in Malaysia and, while business has taken me overseas in recent years, I now look forward to playing a positive role in the continuing development of the country."

The investiture ceremony took place at the Abu Bakar Palace, Pekan, Pahang, where the newly entitled Dato' Vijay Eswaran was accompanied by his wife, Datin Umayal, and senior management staff from QuestNet and the QI Group.
