FameCast, the first online talent contest designed to find America's best new artists, today announced that with the help of Charles Attal Presents & Stubbs BBQ, will be hosting an open casting call to find Austin's best new bands and artists. The open casting call will take place at Stubbs BBQ on Saturday and Sunday, January 20-21, 2007. Filming will take place Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Participants at the open casting call will be filmed and their performance will be uploaded to the FameCast national online contest allowing them to compete for the grand prize of $10,000 and global exposure.
FameCast is a nationwide online talent contest and entertainment community platform targeted at discovering the next big music and comedy stars. FameCast was founded to showcase legitimate artists who have yet to be discovered and whom the audience deems to be worthy of stardom. The FameCast online contest and entertainment community will provide contestants the ability to connect with and grow a national audience and compete to become a FameCast Fenom and win a grand prize worth $10,000 per stage and global exposure.

FameCast is currently taking artist's video submissions to compete on six virtual stages, classified by genre, including Rock, Pop, R&B, Country, Hip Hop and Comedy, with more to follow. The final five contestants from each stage will be flown on location in Austin, TX, to compete in a live show during SXSW the week of March 12, 2007. The final shows will be Webcast for viewers to watch and select the ultimate FameCast winners that same week.
