Los Angeles, CA ? June 28, 2007: The Gonzales family will be honored as Habitat for Humanity?s newest local homeowners during a ceremony on Saturday, June 29, where they will be given the key to their new home on 112th Street in Los Angeles. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles (www.habitatla.org) works in partnership with hardworking families, like the Gonzales?, who would not otherwise qualify for homeownership and currently live in substandard living conditions. The home was donated to Habitat for Humanity by the Los Angeles Housing Department and funded by the Trust Company of the West (TCW), a first-time supporter of Habitat for Humanity, who donated $100,000 to fully sponsor the home and whose employees also volunteered their time to build alongside the Gonzales family.

WHY: Habitat for Humanity of Greater L.A. will celebrate the completion of another home this Saturday during a ceremony to honor The Gonzales Family, a family of six formerly living in a one-bedroom apartment, who are L.A.?s newest Habitat homeowners. The home, which was donated to Habitat for Humanity by the Los Angeles Housing Department after another developer abandoned the project, was a rehabilitation partnership with TCW. TCW employees joined local volunteers to build the home alongside the Gonzales family, who was required to give 500 hours of ?sweat equity? as their down payment on a zero-interest loan.
