The house of dereon clothing line was first founded by Tina when the group Destiny’s Child was first starting out and did not have much money or access to designer clothing. The house of dereon was inspired by the three generations of Knowles from the 40’s to the 70’ and the now.
The house of dereon fashion line was first introduced in the Oprah Winfrey Show and the Tyra Banks Show, there she said that the house of dereon are a mix of hip-hop influence with the use of denims, and for femininity she flourished it with dereon with embroidery and ruffles.
With it, the house of dereon fashion line quickly grew and made its way across the globe. In an interview with Ebony magazine Beyoncé said "I love the clothes from the 70s, my mothers clothes. I love clothes from the 40s, my grandmothers style, so elegant. We wanted to take elements from my grandmothers legacy--the beaded lace, lush colors, fine fabrics--and mix them with clothes from my mothers generation and my generation”.
