The latest version of Value Investor Basic and Professional have been released today. Both versions are now at 1.3.8. Visually, the product looks the same as the previous version, but underneath there are two major changes made to prepare Value Investor for future changes.
1. Replaced the data storage. We replaced a simpler XML-based storage system with a much more powerful and versatile SQLite data storage system. This change will allow us to make software updates and enhancements faster and more efficient, and enable us to respond to your feedback and ideas much more quickly. Efficient data storage is key to a robust and professional quality application. We touched nearly every corner of the Value Investor source code to make this change and have already seen the software performing solid and stable with the new data storage system, opening future version of Value Investor to great new possibilities.
2. Error reporting can be sent back to us automatically. Every version of Value Investor goes through both rigorous automated and manual testing to make sure changes to the software are well tested. After all this testing, and you still encounter an error, Value Investor will show an error report screen. You can simply press the Send button and the error will reported automatically to our online bug tracking system. You can enter a description about what happened or your email as well, but these two things are optional. So, you can send the error report to us completely anonymously if you want.
