The demo version is FREE, but only contains data for the southeastern US. The full version ($25 for download or $30 for CD-ROM) contains data for the entire United States railroad network. Just install the program, then mouseover or click on the map to see current and historical data for specific stretches of track on current and abandoned railroad lines. Data includesa graphic display of each railroad line. Additional data (where available) tells you whether this stretch of track is abandoned, previous owners, post World War II owners, passenger, traffic density, FRA class, and type of signaling. Map zooms out to lower 48 states, or zooms in to city level. Geographically correct, this map uses FRA and USGS data, so scaling and track locations are accurate.Researched and programmed by Ron Paludan, an experienced PC mapmaker and railfan, this software program combines history and geography to fulfill a need-to-know for railfans and rail historians. Look up railroads, or just find out about that stretch of track you`ve been wondering about.* Runaway Train! for Windows 95/98/NT4.0. This is a FREE Game. Using a queue of different shaped tracks, you quickly build track in front of a runaway locomotive to prevent it from derailing before your time runs out. You also get points for traveling on track you laid, but only for the first trip over, so you try to lay track that will lead the runaway train over new tracks. It`s fast and fun, plus you get a random starting game board and different order of game pieces in the queue each time you play, so the game is fresh every time.*Railwaystation.com Art Gallery Screensaver for Windows 95/98/NT4.0 features original railroad art by Ron Paludan, who uses Bryce and Poser to create unique art that tells a story. Screensaver has 14 display effects.
