LOCAL DEVELOPER TO HELP AFFORDABLE HOMES CRISIS IN SOUTH CHESHIRE
Nantwich based SKY Land Consultants PLC are unveiling plans to help local people get on the property ladder. Mark Maguire, Chairman said “Following the news article several months ago in the Nantwich Chronicle, I was horrified that nearly 2,640 people are on a waiting list for an affordable home”. With this in mind the Company which specialises in Land Investment, decided to bring forward their plans and address this problem directly.
The problem with building affordable homes lies in the land prices, with market housing prices rising all the time, means that the land costs prohibit the building of Affordable homes. Plus many landowners do not want any affordable housing as the price they attract is significantly lower than that of market housing.
SKY Land have teamed up with Manchester based Mortgage broker; Gardner Finance and have several schemes available to existing Social Housing tenants and new buyers meeting the affordable home requirements. In line with the Government request that Private developers should help meet the affordable homes requirements, SKY land Consultants feel that they are on track to do this.
At present they have outlined two sites, one outside of Nantwich and the second in Coppenhall Crewe. Presently they are seeking enquiries from interested buyers directly prior to any Planning Application.
