Lodi, CA. February 15, 2008 – D. Brown Management announced today they are bringing a portion of their “Profit Happens Here!” educational series to the 2008 Electric West trade show in an effort to help contractors ride the waves of an ever-changing and somewhat uncertain economic future. The largest electrical marketplace in the western United States, Electric West presents the best ideas and suppliers in electrical equipment and services to over 6,000 electrical contractors, engineers, plant managers and other electrical professionals.
“This is a great opportunity for us to bring the success of some of our best practices to a larger audience,” said David Brown, president of D. Brown Management.
“Even though our country has experienced a bit of an economic slowdown, the construction industry remains strong, and it will remain strong, provided contractors have the proper tools for success. We are experts in helping contractors develop and train their teams to be as efficient, productive and profitable as possible,”
David Brown will be facilitating the seminar that focuses on pre-planning and productivity for contactors. Considering more than 35% of a typical construction day is spent on “non-installation” activities, this will provide contractors with a tremendous opportunity to learn how pre-planning can enhance productivity in the field - ultimately leading to maximum profits.
This session is based on some of D. Brown Management’s proven techniques for pre-planning that save time and money while improving quality and safety. The class is geared towards anyone within the construction industry, including electricians, foremen, superintendents, project managers, estimators, purchasing agents, as well as company owners.
Over 6000 participants from Northern California and around the country are expected to attend the 4-day conference in Las Vegas that will be held from February 26th through February 29th.
D. Brown Management’s highly successful Profit Happens Here! series is the result of codifying the experiences of senior industry consultants and includes modules on a variety of topics including:
How Project Teams Can Improve Cash Flow – A two hour session that focuses on explaining cash flow, why it is critical for a company, and key action items that can be put into practice immediately to improve cash flow.
Mastering the Work-In Progress Schedule – This four hour “Lunch n’ Learn” session focuses on the work-in-progress (WIP) schedule – what it is and how it can be used to drive operational performance.
Integrating Accounting and Operations – An intense one day workshop geared for senior managers and owners of medium to large contracting businesses. The workshop’s facilitation and peer group interaction is geared to help executives and owners generate ideas and a plan for improving performance by helping accounting and operations work together more effectively.
Project Productivity – This one day workshop is geared towards project managers, superintendents, and foremen. It focuses on four of the “Profit Happens Here!” modules including Project Pre-Planning, Impacted Productivity, Staying On-Track, and Production Tracking.
