Press Release:

Over the previous years , various supermodels like Tyra banks, Iman, Alek Wek and most recently Naomi Campbell have accused high fashion magazines, particularly Vogue, of sidelining black models for white models. Naomi Campbell has made headlines with her decision to open her own modelling agency in Kenya in a step of positive discrimination.

In an interview with Nigerian model Grace Ademafaka, she revealed how many of her African peers use skin whitening products in an attempt to become more marketable. “You can even see signs of racism amongst white women” she said. “Super white models like Lily Cole are gaining more and more popularity over their darker skinned Caucasian peers”.

Astonishingly, according to Marketing Director of skin whitening products http://www.theswisscare.com, white Caucasian girls account for about 8% of all sales of their skin whitening products.

It appears that this discrimination against black models has altered everyones perception of beauty so much that even caucasian girls feel the need to be whiter in order to feel beautiful.
