Longtime friends, Jodi Lipper and Cerina Vincent come up with something every modern woman needs: the anti-diet book. “How to Eat Like a Hot Chick is about how to eat the things you love and still look your best,” Cerina tells me. So it’s not about depriving yourself and counting calories? I inquire. “No, more like cutting calories where you won’t miss it.” Take, for example their tips on alcohol: “how to enjoy cocktail hour with less calories.” Seriously, that’s fabulous. The tone of the book is something unique and empowering; a journey Cerina and Jodie went through together as friends and wanted to share with other women. “We both spent years of our lives not feeling hot,” Serena says. “It was through our friendship that we realized we were ‘hot.’” “You should be able to look in the mirror and say ‘I’m hot,’” she adds. Attitude is everything, and these ladies have plenty of it. The book isn’t just a ‘How to’ guide, it’s a conversation -- and a peek into the female mind. “Jodie and I talk about this all the time, women are f@$*%#d up about food.” Oh yes, these two keep it real like that. “We do drop the ‘f-bomb’ -- and a lot of other words,” they tell me with a collective laugh. That freshness makes these hot chicks relatable to women and men alike. Jodie tells me guys have come up to her and said, “I’ve learned so much about women reading this book.” “We’ve found many guys who enjoyed the book and lost weight,” Serena says. For example, their agent! Well that settles it, if I can be a “hot chick,” so can you.
