Autographica has been running for 6 years with previous events in Northampton and Coventry. Past guests have included Sir John Mills, Sir Patrick Moore, Richard Todd, Val Kilmer, Sir Geoff Hurst and many others.
Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, first on the moon with Neil Armstrong in 1969 aboard Apollo 11 will be flying in to the Radisson Edwardian Hotel at Heathrow to meet and talk with UK space fans and discuss the return to the moon recently announced by NASA.
Colonel Aldrin will be attending Autographica ‘The Worlds Largest Autograph Show’ for Question and answer sessions over the weekend of 28/29/30 of October. Also in attendance will be fellow moonwalker Charlie Duke of Apollo 16, Dick Gordon from Apollo 12 and the first man to walk in space Alexei Leonov. All will be attending lectures, signing autographs and attending Q and A sessions during the course of weekend.
Event organiser Garry King said ‘this will be the first time that Buzz has been able to attend an event of this nature outside of the USA, and he is looking forward to being able to discuss the return to the moon recently announced by NASA’ ‘Customers in particular want to be able to hear the differing views form the American astronauts and the Russian Cosmonauts on their race to the moon’
Tickets for the event are selling fast, with the Friday evening dinner already being sold out. Other space guests include Skylab astronaut Jack Lousma, Mercury 7 astronaut Scott Carpenter and 3 Russian Cosmonauts.
