Carrentals.co.uk did a survey on more than 1,000 of its clients to find out their choices for most preferred driving instructors. The purpose of the survey was to show the company’s dedication on road safety and to emphasize the role of proper driving instructions in the maintenance of road safety. This is in line with the company’s concern for the daily injuries that are occurring on Britain’s roads, which total about 70 according to the Department of Transport in the UK.
According to Carrentals.co.uk Managing Director Gareth Robinson, the ability of a driver is highly dependent on the reliability of his driving instructor. A driver who learns under a good teacher will have the knowledge he needs to become an excellent driver, even if most people are afraid that they will not perform well enough when they are having their driving tests. Robinson added that the survey was conducted in a humorous way so that people will be more interested in finding the right driving instructors.
The survey showed that there are certain personalities that people would prefer to have on the driving instructor’s seat. For the female drivers, their favourite choice was George Clooney, who got the top spot in the survey as well as the highest number of votes from women aged 55 and below. The actor was followed by Richard Branson, Trevor MacDonald, Shane Richie, Peter Kay and Simon Cowell, in this order of final rankings. Sir Trevor MacDonald was also voted as the best instructor by women who are above 55 years of age.
As for the male drivers, their top choice was Channel 6 newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky. However, Kylie Minogue followed closely in second place after having been voted most preferred driving instructor by male drivers aged 25 to 44 years old. Finishing 3rd to 6th places respectively were Jo Brand, Sharon Osborne, Barbara Windsor and Jordan. Osborne was the top choice for driving instructor among younger male drivers who are between 17-24 years of age.
