Press Release:

Steve Stoessler questions the terrorism issue and in The Awakening of the Lion invites the readers to see it from different perspectives

Since events of 9/11, we are constantly bombarded with reminders to be vigilant at all times. With so much suspicion bestowing us, it seems natural that books on terrorism are plentiful. Steve Stoesslers book is more than just a story about terrorism, it is a book that revolves around its central characters life and decisions, and how they have come about.

Asad is only six years old when he witnesses a bloodbath that involves nearly all his family, in his Algerian home town. Since that very moment his fate seems to be sealed, as he joins a terroristic organization, with a deep desire of revenge. Yet, world order seems to be changing and so Asads life.

The Awakening of The Lion proves to be both evocative and provocative in equal measures. The main character - as the whole book itself - forces the reader to look beyond actions and judgement and see how certain events occur, how people can follow a path that single-mindedly can lead them to terrorism.

Stoessler writes a gripping and engaging novel. Easy to read and vivid in descriptions, this story is simply thrilling. The plot jumps in different times, and the authors continuation of believable and well-rounded characters throughout these time scales is absolutely impressive.

Steve Stoessler has grown up in a journalistic environment. Before settling in England and becoming an IT manager, he has travelled all around the world and covered a considerable amount of jobs, including one as a Bodyguard during the height of the Baader Meinhoff terrorist group. In that occasion, he received a lot of training and gained some precious experiences that he uses as inspiration for his writing.

The Awakening of the Lion is his first novel. Written after half a year of research, it is a powerful and topical book that displays a clear message to its readers: every subject is complex and to be understood it has to be watched and analysed from different perspectives.
